Indonesia's Administrative Regions by Province

Indonesia is divided into 38 provinces, 416 regencies (kabupaten) and 98 cities (kota), 7,285 districts (kecamatan) and 83,762 villages (desa/kelurahan). The counts come straight from the Regions API data, which follows the 2025 Kemendagri decree and was synced 18 September 2026.

Central Java has the most villages (8,563). The province links below open the detail pages in Indonesian, with every regency/city, its code and its district and village counts.
