API Indonesia Now Has a Community Node for n8n
Use 24 Indonesian public data resources directly in your n8n workflows. Here is how to install the node, create an API key, set up the credential, and run your first workflow.

API Indonesia is now available as an n8n community node through the n8n-nodes-api-indonesia package. The node gives you resource and operation pickers in the n8n editor, so workflows for the supported APIs no longer have to be built by hand from an HTTP Request node.
The package version at the time of publishing is 0.2.4. The latest version is always available on the npm page.
The demo above uses a Manual Trigger and the API Indonesia node to fetch the latest earthquakes. One execution returns 15 items that can be passed on to other nodes.
Available resources
The first version of the node covers 24 resources:
- Regions and local data: Wilayah (regions), Kodepos (postal codes), Plates (vehicle plate codes), and UMP (provincial minimum wage).
- Education and public services: Sekolah (schools), Kampus (universities), Rumah Sakit (hospitals), and Libur (public holidays).
- Worship and calendars: Sholat (prayer times), Quran, Alkitab (Bible), and Hijriah (Hijri calendar).
- Environment: Gempa (earthquakes), Cuaca (weather), Peringatan Dini (early warnings), and Astronomi (astronomy).
- Economy and regulation: Kurs (exchange rates), Kurs BI (Bank Indonesia rates), OJK Invest, Halal, and BPOM.
- Search and utilities: KBBI (Indonesian dictionary), Validasi (validation), and Util (utilities).
The available fields change with the resource and operation. For example, a school search asks for a keyword, prayer times ask for a city and date, while earthquake history offers a date range.
Before you install
Prepare:
- A self-hosted n8n instance that allows installing community nodes from npm.
- Owner or Admin access in n8n.
- An API Indonesia account with a verified email.
This package should not be assumed available on n8n Cloud until it is listed as a verified community node. The installation guide below is for self-hosted n8n.
1. Install the community node
- Open Settings in n8n.
- Select Community Nodes.
- Click Install.
- Enter the following package name:
n8n-nodes-api-indonesia
- Read and accept the community node warning, then click Install.
To pin the version you use, enter n8n-nodes-api-indonesia@0.2.4. Use the package name without a version number if you want the latest version available on npm.
2. Create an API key
- Sign in to the API Indonesia dashboard.
- Complete email verification if the dashboard still asks for it.
- Open the API Keys menu and click Buat Key Baru (Create New Key).
- Give it a name that describes how it is used, for example
n8n Production. - Copy the key that starts with
aip_live_.
The API key is shown only once. Store it as an n8n credential and never put it in a regular field, workflow notes, a screenshot, or source code.
3. Connect the credential in n8n
- Add the API Indonesia node to the workflow.
- Under Credential to connect with, select Create new credential.
- Select the API Indonesia API type.
- Paste the API key into the API Key field.
- Leave Base URL as
https://use.apiindonesia.id. - Save the credential.
The credential adds the x-api-key header to every request. A single credential can be reused across several workflows, depending on the credential access settings on your n8n instance.
4. Run your first earthquake workflow
- Add a Manual Trigger.
- Connect it to the API Indonesia node.
- Select the credential you just created.
- Select Resource: Gempa (earthquakes).
- Select Operation: Get Latest Earthquakes.
- Click Execute workflow.
The output is a set of JSON items. You can pass that data to Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, a database, a spreadsheet, or any other processing node available in your n8n instance.
Other workflow examples
- Pull the list of provinces with Wilayah > Get All Provinces, then insert the results into a database or spreadsheet.
- Fetch prayer times by kabupaten/kota (regency/city) and date, then send scheduled reminders.
- Search schools, universities, or hospitals from an internal form.
- Monitor earthquake data and early warnings with a Schedule Trigger.
- Check BPOM data or halal certification as part of a product review process.
Quota and security
Requests from n8n still count against the API Indonesia plan linked to the API key. Check usage and remaining quota in the dashboard, especially before enabling scheduled workflows that run at a high frequency.
Create a separate key for n8n so it can be revoked without disrupting other applications. If a key has ever appeared in a log, screenshot, or repository, revoke it and create a new one.
